North Fayette is a Christian Community of Faith. We are followers of Jesus of Nazareth who is revealed in the New Testament as the Christ, and we seek to live in his way. We live as part of a loving community in the spirit of Christ whose example of self-giving love is our model for being together. We operate by faith, believing in God's calling to us and in God's provisions for us to carry out the mission of the Church.
We are a United Methodist congregation, connected with Christians everywhere and in covenant with all other United Methodists to share in the church's witness to the world. We seek to be a people of open hearts, open minds, and open doors.
We accept all people for who they are and where they are in relation to God, asking only that they be willing to grow through the transforming power of God's Holy Spirit.
Worship is the heartbeat of our congregation and central to everything we do. Individually and corporately, everything we do is to be an expression of our commitment to ascribe greatest worth to God. Corporate worship is vital to transforming our community into what God wants us to be, and we take seriously the centrality of corporate worship. We also seek to provide variety in our worship expressions in order to allow for full expression of the Body of Christ in worship.
We value diversity and practice a theology of the church as the living Body of Christ, enriched by its unique and different members, where all members of the body are highly valued and celebrated. Each member of the Body is encouraged to use his or her unique voice, vocation or vision to enrich the larger community of faith and please God.
We value dialogue and fellowship with persons of different faiths and look for opportunities to build bridges of understanding and friendship wherever possible.
We believe in being responsible and contributing members of the community in which we live, and we look for opportunities to be involved with and cooperate with other organizations and citizens to shape our community for the common good.
We are committed to being a "Safe Sanctuaries" congregation where children and youth are safe and respected and where there is mutual respect and accountability among all who lead and attend our activities.
