Pastor - Doug Burrell
"Helping persons discover and celebrate their unique giftedness; and seeing them put those gifts to work" is what motivates our pastor in ministry. Doug Burrell has been involved in Christian ministries in various forms since 1976 and in those thirty-three years has never lost the thirst for helping others in their spiritual journey.
"From the time I was sixteen years of age, I felt strongly that God had created me to work with people and to be in the work of helping people. Through my college years, it became clear to me that serving God and people as a pastor was where I could be most effective in my life's mission. Others in the Church affirmed my particular gifts that would be useful in ministry. For me, helping and encouraging others is at the heart of everything I do. I measure my success at the end of every week and the end of every day by asking myself if what I have spent my time doing will help others in a way that honors the life and person of Jesus Christ. This applies to every sermon I preach, every phone call or visit I make, every email I send, or the administrative tasks to which I give my time and energies. Ultimately, my calling in life is to encourage others in seeing their God given worth and giftedness; and to encourage them to use their giftedness in concert with their creator. I believe that is exactly what Jesus did. He came to set at liberty those who were lost or captive or oppressed; and it is what he calls us to do."
